A number of potential Community Actions (CAs) were identified by residents during the development of the Neighbourhood Plan (NP) over the last couple of years.

Now that the NP Policies, which relate to land use and planning determinations, have been agreed following the successful referendum, it was time to see whether residents wished to participate in trying to address some or all of the CAs.

Road Works B676 - 28th & 29th July




Leicestershire County Council Highways has agreed to a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order at the above locations.

The B676 Melton Road, Six Hills Lane and Paudy Lane were due to be closed on the 14th and 15th July 2018.

Notice of Made Neighbourhood Plan

Following the referendum held on 12th April in which residents voted conclusively to support the use of the Neighbourhood Plan in deciding planning issues, Melton Borough Council has issued a Notice stating that the Nether Broughton and Old Dalby Neighbourhood Plan is now Made.

Notice of Public Rights re 2017/18 Accounts

As a local elector, or an interested person, you have certain legal rights in respect of the accounting records of smaller authorities.

These include the right to inspect accounting records and related documents and to ask questions about these accounts.

For the year ended 31 March 2018 this period of public rights will commence on Monday 11th June 2018 and end on Friday 20th Jul 2018.

A Big Thank You to the Cubs

A huge thank you to First Old Dalby Cub Scouts who spent two evenings in May working at the Wildflower Garden in Old Dalby.

They finished off a Bog Garden (the Beaver Scouts having dug a big hole last year for this purpose) and dug another section of path which will help to make the garden accessible to more people.

Neighbourhood Plan Referendum Result

On the 12th April a referendum was held in our parish in which electors were asked to decide on whether or not they want Melton Borough Council to use the Neighbourhood Plan to help decide planning applications in our parish.

The turnout on the day was 36.15% and a resounding 88.3% of voters supported the use of the NP in the determination of future planning applications

Fraud against the Elderly and Vulnerable

The Parish Council has received the following information from Leicestershire Police;

A Fraud MO is being conducted against elderly vulnerable people involving a male caller, described by various victims as having an Indian or foreign accent, contacting the vulnerable person knowing their name, address and bank in order to try to get them to withdraw money from the bank.
